WEIRTON — Jon and Darla Phillips of Weirton announce the engagement of their daughter, Kerri Beth, to Timothy Noland Terlage, son of Sue Terlage of Lake City, Fla., and the late Augusto Salas Terlage Jr.

The bride-to-be graduated from Weir High School in 2003. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in aerospace and mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from West Virginia University.

She received a master’s degree in systems engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She is a senior aerospace engineer and the integrated systems supervisor in the Air and Missile Defense Sector at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md.

She also is a visiting professor of mechanical engineering and technical management at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Her fiance graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

He also has a bachelor’s degree in electrical and systems engineering and a master’s degree in control engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.

He is a senior controls engineer and a program lead engineer in the Air and Missile Defense Sector at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

A wedding is planned in October in Maryland.
