Gubanez — Shafer
BLOOMINGDALE — Maggie Marie Gubanez of Bloomingdale and Conrad James Shafer of Scio were united in marriage Nov. 12, 2016, at the Richmond United Methodist Church. Pastor Georgette Gaston officated the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Linda Gubanez of Bloomingdale.
The groom is the son of Sara Joseph of Wintersville and James Shafer of Scio.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. Jessica Gubanez, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Gubanez and Valerie Gubanez, sisters of the bride; Jocelynn Nuske, cousin of the bride; Ashley Comer; Vicki Nuske, cousin of the bride; and Jasmyne Huebner.
Matt Stevens served as best man. Groomsmen were Austin Shafer, brother of the groom; Tyler Middaugh; David Nuske, cousin of the bride; Arthur Joseph, brother of the groom; Steven Nuske, cousin of the bride; and Taylor Grafton.
Lauren Worth, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
The bride is a graduate of Edison High School and the University of Akron where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in education. She is a substitute teacher and sales associate at Dollar General Market.
The groom also is an Edison High School graduate and graduate of Hocking College where he received an associate degree in forest management. He is employed by Denoon Lumber.
A reception followed at the Countryside. After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple are making their home in Carrollton.
