Straub renovates dealership in Glen Dale

GLEN DALE — A local automotive company plans to finish a multi-million dollar renovation project this summer.

According to Executive Manager Bryan Fato, Straub Automotive recently began major construction at the site of its Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram dealership at 1502 Wheeling Ave. Acquired by Straub in 2015, the original facility is undergoing a complete renovation.

According to Fato, the new dealership will have a new showroom, a larger parts and service department with additional service bays, a new customer lounge and additional new and used car inventory on site. Until construction is completed, Straub will remain open for business across the street from the renovation site near the company’s used vehicle lot.

Construction began in January and is projected to finish in early or mid summer.

“We are completely renovating the entire sales showroom, customer lounge, service department and adding a service collision center. It’s going to be a much more customer-friendly atmosphere and we’re also going to be able to provide the amenities that today’s auto shoppers are looking for. It will be a much nicer place to do business,” Fato said. “Thanks to our loyal Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram customers who have supported our store in Glen Dale for the past two years, we were able to make this significant commitment to enhance their Straub Automotive experience.”

Straub Automotive has been locally owned and operated in the Ohio Valley for more than 75 years. In addition to its Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram dealership in Glen Dale, the company also owns and operates the Honda, Hyundai and Nissan new and used car dealerships near the Highlands.

Straub Glen Dale Sales Manager Brad Munson said staff members are excited to see change come to the building.

“We’re just very excited to add some fresh coats of paint to the building in Glen Dale,” he said. “The building hasn’t been renovated in several decades.”
