NEW TEAM MEMBER: Maura Fenske is the newest team member at Em-Media.
Maura graduated from Wood County Christian School in Williamstown, W.Va., before attending Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pa., and graduated in May with a major in public relations and a minor in journalism.
During the summer before her senior year, Fenske worked as a content creation intern. She wrote many blogs for Youth Services System “Quiet Minds” campaign and worked on projects for a number of other clients, including Trinity Health System, IC Care and Prism Fireworks.
Fenske stayed on with EM-Media as a satellite freelance writer throughout her senior year, and she took on the full-time role of marketing representative upon her graduation from Waynesburg. She is based in the firm’s North Side Pittsburgh office and will focus on creating digital content, promoting the agency and acquiring new business in the Pittsburgh market.
Fenske served as president of the Waynesburg University Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter and as an account executive for Red Brick Communications, Waynesburg University’s nationally affiliated student-run communications firm. She worked on and led teams for several client accounts, including Greene County (Pa.) Special Olympics, Community Foundation of Greene County and the Washington County (Pa.) chapter of Habitat for Humanity. She won the 2018 Bob O’Gara Scholarship Award, which is given annually to one Pittsburgh-area college student who exhibits excellent communication skills, academic achievement, moral leadership and knowledge in the field of public relations. She is co-chair of the Renaissance Awards on the Pittsburgh chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s board of directors.
