Cindy’s Fusion Fitness opens Weirton location

WEIRTON – Cindy Petri has brought her workout regimen to Weirton.

Petri, who founded Cindy’s Fusion Fitness in Follansbee two years ago, has opened a second location at 3133 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton.

“The Follansbee location was doing well, so I thought I’d bring it to Weirton,” she said.

The new space measures about 2,400 square feet, plenty of space for the Zumba, yoga, bokwa, pilates, Kross-fit, line dancing and toning classes.

She also offers Cinful Fitness, a workout routine she developed four years ago. It’s a toning class geared for ages 18 and up.

“I was plateauing,” she said. “I made it up for myself, but it worked so good I thought I’d make it into a program. It really focuses on the midsection, but it also does arms and legs.”

Children and seniors are discounted, she said.

“It’s a big commitment, but I’ve wanted to do it for years,” she said. “It’s a dream come true, and I’m making it happen now.”

Petri, who’s been teaching fitness for five years, has a staff of 11 assisting her. Hours and class schedules vary, but classes start as early as 6 a.m. and go as late as 9 p.m. and meet on most holidays.

There’s also a waiting area so moms can bring their kids with them.

“No one has an excuse not to exercise now,” she said.

Cindy’s Fusion Fitness opens Weirton location

WEIRTON – The last two years have been good for Cindy’s Fusion Fitness.

After initially opening its doors in Follansbee in 2011, the locally owned fitness studio opened a second location this month at 3133 Pennsylvania Ave. in Weirton.

“We’re a group fitness studio,” owner Cindy Petri explained. “We do personal training as well.”

Petri noted there are more than 30 classes available at the new Weirton location each week. Classes are available beginning at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, lasting until the late evenings most days. A more limited schedule of classes is available on the weekends, and Petri said any personal training can be scheduled depending on the needs of the individual.

The business has 12 instructors available for a variety of classes, including Zumba, yoga, pilates, cross fit, toning, line dancing and senior classes.

One of the most recent additions is Bokwa, which incorporates high-energy, unstructured exercise steps based on the shapes of letters and numbers.

“We’re all certified in what we teach,” Petri said, adding trainers also are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
