DIEHL’S DINNER CARDS:As a patriotic gesture to support our military and first responders, Diehl Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, in conjunction with the nonprofit Thanks-A-Bunch for Keeping Us Safe, will be giving away $50 dinner cards to these American heroes just for stopping by to say hello between Feb. 1 and Feb. 10. Active or retired military, police officers, firefighters and paramedics and their famimilies can enjoy lunch or dinner courtesy of Diehl Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. There are more than 18,000 participating restaurants nationwide, and more than 108 in the greater Pittsburgh area.

PROMOTION: Denise Clark, a Toronto native, has been promoted to vice president of client and administrative services at FrazierHeiby, a Columbus-based strategic communications firm. Clark also exercised the option to become a minority shareholder and is now a director.

In her role as vice president, Clark will continue to oversee the firm’s client account services and human resource functions. As a shareholder and director, Clark will expand her involvement in the overall management and direction of FrazierHeiby.

Clark has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio State University and is past chair of the East Central District of the Public Relations Society of America.

SBA SEMINAR: The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Service Corps of Retired Executives will present “Encore Entrepreneur: Business After 50” Friday.

The SBA reports that more senior entrepreneurs are rising, given the statistics showing there are more than 76 million over age 50 and one in four between the ages of 44 and 70 are interested in starting a business or nonprofit venture during the next five to 10 years.

The free workshop will be held at the West Virginia State University Economic Development Center in Charleston from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

OPEN HOUSE: H&R Block will host an open house event in Steubenville from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.

The event will take place at both locations: 107 S. Hollywood Blvd. and 181 N. Fourth St.

“We’re excited to host this open house and invite them to get to know more about H&R Block,” said Angel Fellows, client service leader at H&R Block.

Those attending the open house will have an opportunity to talk with H&R Block tax professionals about their previous and current tax returns, as well as tax tips, tax law changes, tax planning and other financial issues.

HELP OFFERED: The YMCA will be offering on-the-spot financial assistance with membership to those who qualify and are interested in joining from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Steubenville YMCA Wellness Center. Proof of total household income and your latest 1040 tax form, if you file, are required.

BMV SERVICES: The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles is now issuing multi-year/permanent registrations to customers who have a commercial trailer or semi-trailer vehicle registered in the state and is offering company logo plates for customers who have apportioned vehicles registered in the state.

Multi-year (two to seven years) and permanent (eight years) registrations will allow customers to purchase multi-year commercial trailer and semi-trailer registrations for up to seven consecutive years or pay the equivalent of eight years of registration fees to receive a permanent registration plate (for the life of the trailer, non-transferable).

The permanent registrations will receive a plate with the word “permanent” printed between the bolt holes and “No Exp” printed (no expiration) at the bottom right hand corner.

International Registration Plan customers can request an application for a company logo plate through the Ohio Commercial Online Registration System at www.OHCORS.com, or the BMV website at www.ohiobmv.gov or by calling (614) 752-2055. This service is available to Ohio carriers that have an IRP account in good standing.
