Five from Bordas named Super Lawyers
WHEELING – Five attorneys from the Wheeling-based law firm of Bordas and Bordas has been selected for the 2014 West Virginia Super Lawyers list, and one has been selected as a rising star.
Selected as Super Lawyers were Jim Bordas, Jamie Bordas, Scott Blass, Geoff Brown and Christopher Regan. Jeremy McGraw was chosen as a rising star.
Jim Bordas, one of the firm’s founding partners, has been a Super Lawyer for the past eight years, and also has been named as one of the top 10 super lawyers for 2014. He has obtained numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for injured clients in such diverse fields as medical negligence, toxic tort, leader liability, product liability, insurance bad faith and auto and truck cases. He has been named member of the year by the West Virginia Association for Justice, and has been a guest lecturer at numerous seminars.
Jamie Bordas, managing partner of the firm, has tried numerous cases and obtained record results, including a $10 million verdict in an insurance bad faith case. He is a member of the board of governors of the West Virginia Association for Justice, and since 2008 has been included as a member of the top 100 trial lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Notre Dame Law School and hosts a weekly legal show on WLU-TV.
Blass, a partner with the firm, has been a Super Lawyer for the past four years. A graduate of West Virginia University and the WVU College of Law, has has headed hundreds of cases on behalf of people who have suffered catastrophic injuries and damages. Blass is a member of the Ohio and West Virginia bars, is past president of the West Virginia Association for Justice and has been selected as its member of the year.
Regan, a partner with the firm, has been selected as a Super Lawyer for the past three years. He focuses on civil litigation on behalf of plaintiffs in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He graduated from the Notre Dame Law School and is a former national debate champion.
Brown, also a partner, has been Super Lawyer for the past two years. A 1994 graduate of the United States Military Academy, he is a graduate of the Notre Dame Law School. His focus is litigation and medical malpractice cases.
McGraw, an associate with the firm, concentrates on handling cases involving oil and gas rights and litigation. He attended the WVU College of Law and graduated in 2006.
