WEIRTON – Area residents don’t have to go to Pittsburgh to find selections of high fashions and accessories.
SerenDipity Boutique has opened its doors at 324 B Penco Road, with the goal of providing on-trend fashion that fits everyone’s budget.
Owner Dana Sellitti opened the boutique with the goal of creating a specialty neighborhood boutique where residents would always be able to find something new.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Sellitti has 25 years of experience in the fashion retail industry, working for companies including Saks Fifth Avenue, Dior and Louis Vuitton.
Introduced to Weirton by her husband, attorney Jim Sellitti, she said she wanted to be able to bring designer fashions normally found in New York, Florida and California to the Tri-State Area.
“I’ve never met people so kind, and I just fell in love,” she said.
Among the lines of clothing and accessories being offered are AG Jeans, Wilt, Phat Buddha, Yosi Samra, Chan Luu and LeeLee Rox.
“I’ve worked to get some unbelievable brands,” Sellitti said. “I hand-picked every single piece.”
Sellitti also is providing some recognition to designers with local ties.
“I want to promote local businesses,” she explained.
Among those is the Oleander line, designed by Weirton native Lexi Ferguson, which features various hand bags and clutches.
Another locally created line is from resident Mary Pietranton, who also works at SerenDipity.
“I heard about the store, and decided to work for her and sell some of my work,” Pietranton said.
Sellitti said even though they have been open only a couple of weeks, the store has been getting a lot of attention, including from Pittsburgh residents.
“We get a lot of people from Pittsburgh,” she said, noting in their first week 12 people from the Steel City visited the store.
