NEW DIRECTOR: Dr. Maria Tranto is the new medical director of Carriage Inn of Steubenville.

Tranto, who grew up in the Steubenville-Weirton area, is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She is licensed to practice medicine in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania and is board certified in internal medicine.

She has received many accolades, and has been chosen as Best of The Best by readers of The Weirton Daily Times, and was voted best primary care physician seven out of eight years; was a Today’s Hospitalist featured Top 10 Medical Innovations and Patient’s Choice Award winner in 2012 and received compassionate doctor recognition in 2012.

Tranto was featured in the Feb. 14, 2011, edition of The American Medical News in a business article on the maternity lab coat.

QUALIFIES: Nikolas A. Kamarados, a certified financial planner and a financial planner with Prudential Financial Inc. Keystone Mountain Financial Group, has qualified for membership in the Million Dollar Round Table for the 13th consecutive year, making him a qualifying and life member.

HONORED: The Microtel Inn & Suites at 875 University Blvd, Steubenville, has received “Best of the Best” status, which recognizes the brand’s top performing hotels and their staffs.

William Williams, the hotel’s owner, was presented the award by Microtel and Wyndham Hotel Group leadership.

“This is a great honor for our hotel and is a direct result of the hard work of our wonderful staff,” said Williams. “We’re in the business of creating lasting memories for all our guests, and this starts with high quality service and unforgettable hotel experiences.”

To be eligible for the award, hotels must have demonstrated strong quality scores, outstanding guest reviews and an unwavering commitment to the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program and its members.

The local Microtel is a 79-room hotel and offers complimentary deluxe breakfast, patio with fireplace, soon-to-open market place and a view of the Ohio River.
