NEW MANAGER: Ken Wright has been hired as branch manager of Weirton office locations of United Bank. With several years of experience locally in the financial industry, Wright will oversee the profitability of the location, hire and coach employees and promote the bank’s products and services.

“I am excited to work in the community I have lived in all my life,” said Wright. “I look forward to promoting United Bank and its customer-oriented products and services.”

A Weirton native, Wright earned a bachelor of science degree in communications and a minor in radio and television from West Liberty University. In addition, he obtained his Series 6, 63, 65 and life and annuities licenses.

EVENT SLATED: The annual Cadiz Community Recognition Banquet is slated for Saturday at Wallace Lodge at Sally Buffalo Park.

Sponsored by the Cadiz Business Association, the event will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception and dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Officials with the Cadiz Lions Club said the club has selected Andy and Jackie Hutyera as the 2018 citizens of the year, and the Harrison News-Herald Citizen’s Choice award will go to Robert Sterling, Harrison County engineer. Other awards to be presented during the banquet are the Tony Pietrangelo Memorial Beautification award, business of the year award and the organization of the year award.

The dinner will be catered by Caprarros.

Howard Landkrohn leads the Cadiz Business Association. Other members are Dr. Jackie Hutyera, vice president; Nancy Davis, treasurer; Callie Eberhart, secretary; and executive board members Becky Bowman, Bonnie Beetham, Shelly Coffelt, Kay Moore and Joelle Bensie.

JOINS FIRM: Sue Pevac has joined Cardinal Wealth Management as a financial adviser, partners Gregory R. Metcalf and Richard J. Desman have announced.
