Marking the opening of the county Road 10 bridge in Adena recently were employees at the Peoples National Bank in the village, from left, Paul Babela, Kelly Tonkovich, Tiffany Horn and Shelley Dolak. The bridge, spanning Short Creek, had been closed since November following an inspection and cut the village in half, causing a detour to get from one side of town to the other. Ohio Department of Transportation crews fast-tracked the bridge replacement using part of $140 million from the state, according to ODOT officials. A banner acknowledging the reopening of the bridge and the reuniting of the residents of Adena was displayed at the bank.
