Alumni fundraiser detailed
COLLIERS – The Colliers Alumni and Friends Association is selling calendars until Feb. 15.

The group will be awarding a scholarship to a graduating Brooke High School senior who attended the school. Applications for the scholarship are due April 5, and information can be obtained at Brooke High School.
Church to hold soup sale Feb. 1
COLLIERS – The Colliers United Methodist Church will hold its annual Super Soup Sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 1.
The church is located at 318 Pennsylvania Ave., across from the Colliers Post Office.
Potato soup, with or without dumplings, vegetable soup and chicken noodle soup will be sold. The cost is $5 per quart. Only takeout will be available.
Delivery will be available for orders of 10 or more quarts. All orders must be made by Jan. 29.
The fundraiser supports the church youth group.

Library offers winter-themed event
WELLSBURG – The Brooke County Public Library will hold an “Everybunny Loves Winter!” activity time at 11 a.m. on Jan. 26.
Children will hear “Max & Ruby” stories written by Rosemary Wells and participate in various activities.

WELLSBURG – The Brooke County Public Library will be showing the PG-13-rated film, “Taken 2,” starring Liam Neeson, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
