Essay winners recognized
WEIRTON -The Weirton-Wellsburg Chapter of Credit Unions and Mayor George Kondik’s office encouraged area seventh-graders to participate in the state-wide “If I Were Mayor, I Would” essay contest by choosing local winners and giving them a prize of $125 and a plaque.
The winners included Jacob Conley, Weir Middle School; Nadia Korth, St. Joseph the Worker School; and Wesley Noble, St. Paul Catholic School. Chapter President Janet Stagani presented the awards, and the winners were recognized during a recent council meeting.
