Final gyro sale set for

Tuesday at Holy Trinity

The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos Society members will hold their last gyro sale of the season on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church located at 300 S. Fourth St., Steubenville.

The gyro sells for $6 each, and the koulourakia – the twist cookie – sells for $5 a dozen.

There is free delivery available for orders of four or more gyros.

Orders can be phoned in to (740) 282-9835 or sent by Fax to (740) 282-2091. Patrons should allow a minimum of 20 minutes for phone-in and Fax orders.

Walk-ins also are welcome.

Harmony UMC planning

Ash Wednesday service

Harmony United Methodist Church, 2119 Commercial St., Mingo Junction, will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Special concert Sunday

at Toronto First UMC

The First United Methodist Church of Toronto with host a concert on Sunday at 7 p.m. featuring Ron Retzer and Christian music duo the Chrisagis Brothers performing songs of romance and inspiration.

Joining the trio will be Ann SeCheverell, a singer from Indiana.

The church is located at Sixth and Main streets in Toronto.

Musical celebration at Mount Carmel on Feb. 24

The music ministry of Mount Carmel Community Baptist Church located at 708 N. Fifth St., Steubenville, will be hosting a Black History Month musical celebration on Feb. 24, beginning at 4 p.m.

The celebration will feature national recording artists, local male choruses and quartets to include 1NE Ministries, Mount Zion Baptist Church Male Chorus of Fairmont, W.Va., Gospel Lights, Doc Roe, Men of Vision, Bridgeville Male Ensemble, Mount Zion Baptist Church Male Chorus of Steubenville and the Trumpets of Joy.

‘Fat Tuesday’ event at

Brilliant United Methodist

The Mary Martha Circle of the Brilliant United Methodist Church is having a “Fat Tuesday” Pasta and Salad Bar along with a Chinese auction on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A variety of special baskets along with donations from local businesses will be featured in the fundraiser. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the church roof fund.

Friday Night Alive service scheduled for Feb. 15

The Voice of Pentecost, 106 Mendenhall St., Weirton, will host a “Friday Night Alive” service on Feb. 15, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Friday Night Alive is a gathering of churches in the Ohio Valley for spirit-filled worship and fellowship, according to a news release.

The featured speaker will be the Rev. David Hudson, West Virginia district superintendent.

The Voice of Pentecost’s choir and Hands of Praise sign language group also will participate in the service. The event is open to the public.

Retrouvaille program offers help for troubled marriages

Retrouvaille of Youngstown, a peer ministry that helps troubled couples fulfill the commitment of their marriage sacrament, is offering a weekend session Feb. 15-17 at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman.
