St. Vincent DePaul Valentine’s Extravaganza plans are progressing
The Wintersville Catholic parishes of Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches are holding their fourth-annual St. Vincent DePaul Valentine’s Extravaganza on Feb. 10 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Social Hall, Sargus Hall, 852 Main St., Wintersville.
It will include free samples, a variety of local vendors, crafters and bakers.
The event is the only fundraiser held annually for the society, which operates a food pantry and distributes free food to qualified households in the Wintersville and Bloomingdale areas. St. Vincent DePaul distribution for food information is available by calling (740) 264-9547. Elane Renzelli is the society director.
In 2012, the households received more than 30,000 balanced and planned meals packed by the volunteers. The society also provides Easter food baskets and candy; back-to-school supplies for students in grades preschool through 12; Thanksgiving food baskets; and children’s’ Christmas gifts.
For information about becoming a vendor, contact Linda Freed by phone at (740) 264-6539 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org for an application.
