Free diabetic shoe screenings offered
Medi Home Care will hold free diabetic shoe screenings from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at the facility located at 105 Main St., Wintersville.

Hounds’ Haven Inc. will hold its winter “Adopt-A-Pet” event on Feb. 16 at Pet Supplies Plus in Steubenville.
Individuals can stop by any time from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and play with the dogs and cats and puppies on hand, looking for adoption into responsible homes, a shelter spokesperson said. All animals have been spayed or neutered, vet-checked, tested and vaccinated.
All proceeds will benefit the animals that call Hounds’ Haven their home. Hounds’ Haven is a privately operated, nonprofit “quality-of-life” shelter in Jefferson County, that provides area animals with food, shelter, love and care for a lifetime, and reaches out throughout the Ohio Valley community with low-cost spay-neuter programs and youth education and enrichment services.
Knights of Columbus Council No. 472 is having a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the council hall located on Woodvue Lane in Wintersville behind the Ohio Highway Patrol headquarters.
The public is invited to attend along with members, their families and friends. Cost for the dinner is $7 a person and $3 for those under age 12.
The menu consists of spaghetti and meatballs, Italian bread, dessert and coffee. “The sauce is homemade by the council chefs and is a real treat,” a council spokesperson said.
Refreshments other than coffee can be purchased in the council social room at a minimal cost. Carryouts are available by calling (740) 264-0092.

The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a spring fling craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 23.
The cost of a table is $20 and crafters, and vendors are welcome. Those interested should call (304) 748-3490 to reserve a table.
Attention, area hiking enthusiasts
The Outdoors Club will meet at 2 p.m. Feb. 17 to hike part of the Clendening Lake section of the Buckeye Trail.
