service at YWCA
A Good Friday service will be held Friday beginning at 11 a.m. at the YWCA located at 320 N. Fourth St., Steubenville.
The Rev. Calvin McLoyd of Second Baptist Church in Steubenville will deliver the message. Music will be provided by Anita Jackson and Christine Hargrave.
It is open to the public. Lunch will be an $8 donation. Those planning to attend should RSVP by Monday by calling (740) 282-1261 for reservations.
to host Steele
The Rev. Ashley Steele, executive director of Urban Mission Ministries of Steubenville, will be the guest speaker at the 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service at the Steubenville First Church of the Nazarene located at 511 Woodlawn Road, Steubenville.
The service will include special music and a celebration of the Lord’s Supper, according to Pastor Ron Miller.
‘Fellowship, food, faith’ service
First Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 235 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, is continuing its Lenten Season Sunday evening worship services.
The time of “fellowship, faith and food” begins at 5:30 p.m. with the worship service, followed by a soup and sandwich meal.

Good Friday church services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Unionport United Methodist Church. There will be special music, and Pastor Chuck Mehl will deliver the message. All are invited to attend.
Easter Sunday sunrise church services will be held at 7 a.m. at the Unionport Christian Church with Pastor Chuck Mehl delivering the message. An Easter breakfast will follow the service. Afterwards, both Unionport churches will have their own worship service at the regular time.
Hill Top details
Hill Top Presbyterian Church, Toronto, has announced Easter activities and services.
There will be a community Easter egg hunt at noon on Saturday at the Fellowship Hall, located on county Road 46, Toronto.
There will be activities, including a “twisted egg hunt” for the younger children, a scavenger hunt for the older youth and crafts for all age groups.
A luncheon will be served for all. The committee requests that children be accompanied by an adult.
On Maundy Thursday, the congregation will meet at 6 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall for a communion service.
An Easter sunrise service on March 31 will be held at 7 a.m. the church and be followed by a breakfast.
The traditional Easter service with a special message by the children will be held at 10:30 a.m. March 31.
Harmony UMC to
Harmony United Methodist Church, 2119 Commercial Ave., Mingo Junction, will hold a Maundy Thursday covered-dish dinner and communion service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday; participate in the 2013 Christ Walk on Good Friday and host a Good Friday worship service beginning at 7 p.m.; and hold its Easter service March 31 at 9:30 a.m.
Choir to present
The Voice of Pentecost Choir will present an Easter Cantata beginning at 11 a.m. March 31 at the church located at 106 Mendenhall St., Weirton.
The Hands of Praise sign team and the youth of the church also will have presentations. Pastor Robert Keenan will deliver the Easter message.
An Easter egg hunt will follow the service on the church grounds.

Sunrise service at
The village of Irondale and its beautification committee placed three wooden crosses at the village gazebo in celebration of the Easter season.
On Easter morning, the Irondale United Methodist Church’s sunrise service will begin the celebration at 6:30 a.m. at Morning View Cemetery located on county Road 55 just outside the village limits.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Pastor Dan Crowe will lead the service.
Breakfast will follow at the church. The regular worship service will begin at 11 a.m.
The public is invited to both services.
‘Glory in the Cross’ concert set
The Chrisagis Brothers and Ron Retzer will present “Glory in the Cross,” a Christian concert, on Palm Sunday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Brentwood United Methodist Church located at 148 Stephens St., Wintersville.
Ministering in will music will be the Chrisagis BRothers, Retzer, J.D. Garrison, Jennifer Galownia, Bob Wolfe, Doc Roe and the church’s own Leslie Thermes.
The event is open to the public. There is no admission, but there will be a love offering.

at Mingo church
A Tenebrae service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church of Mingo Junction on Good Friday, beginning at 8 p.m.
The dramatic presentation staged by church members will depict the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.
The presentation is not suitable for small children.
at Zion United
Zion United Church of Christ, 139 N. Fifth St., Steubenville, will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m.
A continental breakfast and Easter egg hunt will be held on Easter morning March 31 at 10 a.m. followed by the worship service at 11 a.m.
Service, meal at Weirton church
Marland Heights Community Church invites the community to attend Easter sunrise services at 7 a.m. March 31 at the church located at 3900 Bright Way, Weirton.
A continental breakfast will follow.
Sunday school will be held at 9 a.m., a worship service at 10 a.m. and communion at 11 a.m.
Sunrise service at
The Hopedale United Methodist, Presbyterian and Sacred Heart churches will join together for Easter sunrise services at 7:30 a.m. March 31 in the Hopedale UMC on Church Street, Hopedale.
Pastor Ruby Foutz will conduct the services. Breakfast will be served afterwards.
“The community is invited to come share with us at this holy time,” a spokesperson said.

Riverview Baptist Chapel located at 225 Charles St., Wellsburg, will host Splendid Sound in concert during a 7 p.m. Sunday performance.
Splendid Sound is a Toronto-based southern gospel quartet.
