Library programs detailed
Upcoming programs have been announced by the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County. They include the following:
Learn to decorate cupcakes like a professional. Margaret Richardson of Tiers of Joy will demonstrate how on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch. A supply list will be given upon registration. Call (740) 769-2090.
Play and Learn for caregiver and children birth to 3 at the Schiappa branch on Thursday at 6 p.m. and on March 15 at 10 a.m.
Play and Learn the Alphabet offers letter-learning toys and is for caregiver and children ages 2 to 6. It will be offered at the main library on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
“Coffee, Doughnuts and A Movie” will be offered at the main library on March 15 at 10 a.m.
There will be a book discussion on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Adena branch and at the Toronto branch on Tuesday at 10 a.m. The Tiltonsville’s book club will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The cookbook club for the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch will meet on Thursday at 5 p.m. For information, call the library at (740) 769-2090.
Make a craft to take home at the main library on Thursday at any time. Children also can make a craft at the Adena branch on Tuesday any time from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch on Monday any time from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Story Hour for caregiver and children ages 2-6 will be held at the Toronto branch on Monday at 5 p.m.
Babygarten is a lap- sit program that teaches songs, rhymes and stories for caregiver and children ages birth to 2. It will be offered at the Brilliant branch on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Enjoy a movie with the family at the Tiltonsville branch on March 16 at noon.
A representative from Social Security will speak about online services available at socialsecurity.gov during a presentation at the main library on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
For those currently receiving benefits, they’ll learn how to check benefit and payment information, start or change direct deposit and get a benefit verification letter. Those not receiving benefits can learn how to estimate their retirement and file for benefits when they’re ready. The representative also will be available to answer general questions about Social Security, Medicare and/or Supplemental Security Income. Register by calling the main library at (740) 282-9782.
