Mingo Lions Club meeting includes award presentation

The February dinner meeting of the Mingo Lions Club was held at Mingo Medical Group Office Building with President Jim Freiling presiding.

Bill Snyder gave the opening prayer.

Clara Sue Milewsky, secretary, presented Freiling with a Key Award from Lions Clubs International. The Lion receiving this award has successfully opened the door of Lionism to at least two individuals.

Membership sheets were distributed to members, who were asked to fill in the names of 10 people they think might be interested in joining the Mingo Lions Club and to bring it to the next meeting.

Members were updated on the zone meeting to be held in Toronto and the district convention to be held in New Philadelphia.

Discussion was held on the “Gs” District Awards.

Freiling read “A History of the Mingo Lions Club” dated April 15, 1959, which was written by the late John J. Pergi, who was a member of the club.

The Milewskys took approximately 100 pairs of used glasses to the Lions Collection Center.

John Fabian won the drawing, donating it back to the club.

Dr. William Johns gave the closing prayer.

Kathy Freiling was a guest.

The next meeting will be held March 18 at Mingo Medical Group Office Building. Terry Snyder will be the caller.
