Myrtle McHendry Class holds meeting
WEIRTON – The Myrtle McHendry Class of the Cove Presbyterian Church met March 5 at the Fellowship Hall with President Betty Virtue presiding.
Virtue welcomed those attending with a reading of an inspirational poem, “Words to Live By.”
Betty Morgan gave the devotions, reading from the Bible.
Secretary Esten Jezerski and Treasurer Rhadine Ross gave reports. Ross noted 12 members were present, and dues were collected. Bea Sobolak was welcomed as a new member.
Sunday School Teacher Eleanor Cline encouraged everyone present to come to Sunday school, which meets at 9:45 a.m. Sundays. The school is studying Daniel, which will be followed by Luke.
The class was reminded Floy Fetty and Marcia Shane have the prayer chain available for the class every Sunday morning.
Eloise Evans, Joanne Feil, Lee Gryskevich, Mary Kay Hyde, Sharon Johnson, Barbara Losey, Bonnie Nichols, Mary Ross, Corrine Ferguson and Floy Fetty celebrated birthdays in January, February and March. Members sang “Happy Birthday.”
Nichols invited the class to attend an open house celebration for Corrine Ferguson in honor of her 90th birthday, which will be hosted by her children.
Vice President Bonnie Nichols reported several committee changes. Diana Durst and Enid Williams will serve on the nominating committee. Rhadine Ross will assist Audrey Vincent with flowers. Enid Williams also will serve pianist.
Diana Durst will serve as Ways and Means Chair. Esten Jezerski will serve as publicity chair.
Virtue thanked hostess Eloise Evans and Bonnie Nichols, who provided the entertainment.
