Three Score Seniors hold meeting
WEIRTON – The Three Score Seniors met February at Undo’s, with President Cookie Veltri calling the meeting to order, followed by members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.”
Entertainment Chair Rosemary Gaynor introduced Donahue and Son. Dave Watkins will provide the March entertainment.
Secretary Pat Deletka read the November meeting minutes and Treasurer Joan Village gave the treasurer’s report. Both were approved by membership.
Tour Chair Regina Truax announced the following trips:
March 9, murder-mystery tour;
Sept. 30, Polynesian Fire; and
Dec. 5, Christmas Spectacular.

Membership Chair Nancy Smurda reported 172 paid members this year, with 110 in attendance at the meeting.
Sunshine Chair Winnie Kemp reported get-well cards were sent to Janet Durbin, Jean Burdett, Jean Ray, Betty Branch, Mary Ann Elliott, Cathy Cobert, Mary Hvizdak, Mary Margaret Klepadlo, John Geary, Guy Ceraolo, Diana Crago, Sis Miller, Joan Villa and Josie Cline. Sympathy cards were sent to Vanita Miller and Winnie Kemp.
Members observed a moment of silence for long-time past member
Wilma Mentzer. Members observed recent birthdays and anniversaries.
Kathryn Hardsouk was introduced as the new House chair.
Veltri noted a problem with seating and asked members to observe the rules and remember the doors don’t open until 4:45 p.m. No one can be seated before that time.
Change in the by-laws will mean no restrictions on the number of meetings members need to attend. Dues were increased to $5, and dinner cost increased to $12.
Hospitality Chair Jim Hare gave prizes to Harold Elliott, Lee Roy Edwards, Joe Pulice, Viola Blanc, Marge Serfini, Sam Lescallette, Viola Blanc.
Betty Virtue gave dinners to Pat Evano, Joan Gallagher, Honey Moore, Margaret Chapman, Eileen Mrvos, Joe Evano and Alma Wansack.
Mary Ann Elliott and Grace Lenhart won Valentine cookies. Jack Cummings awarded the 50/25/25 drawing to Grace Lenhart and Dick Bailey.
Tony LaRosa gave benediction and meeting was adjourned.
