A gala success gala
How much money the seventh-annual Jefferson County Fourth Street Health Center’s seventh-annual gala raised for the facility located at 701 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, will come at the board’s May 8 meeting, but the total will exceed last year’s net from the gala, which was $100,000.
It was held April 21 at St. Florian Hall where the theme was “Fire and Ice,” and attendees were encouraged to dress in red or white or both, which many did.
Gala co-chairs were Dr. Frank and Eileen Petrola, and honorees were Marge DeMark, Volunteer of the Year; Charlotte Jones, medical honoree; and the GFWC/OFWC Woman’s Club of Steubenville led by president Kathy Mills, community honorees.
The event included the presence of young ladies and gentlemen who are the Young Ambassadors (check out their picture above).
Ann Quillen is the executive director of the center that opened its doors in 2006 to help provide health care to the uninsured and underserved residents of Jefferson County.
If you’d like to be a part of that effort, either through a donation or through a volunteer presence, call the center at (740) 283-2856.
