to hold dance
WEIRTON – The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at the center located on Main Street.
The Eldurays will perform. Punch, coffee and hot dogs will be available. The cost is $5.

HICKORY, Pa. – Camp Agape will hold a flapjack festival and open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 11 at the camp located at 72 Agape Road.
A free T-shirt will be given to the first 20 children, and there will be drawings for a free week of camp and a Mother’s Day basket.
The event is free of charge.

Center to host
WEIRTON – The Weirton Senior Center will hold the eighth-annual night motorcycle fun ride June 7, beginning at the senior center located at 3425 Main St.
Registration begins at 5 p.m., with the first rider out at 6 p.m. and last rider in at 8 p.m. The cost is $20 per rider, $10 per passenger and $10 for a dinner ticket.
The event will include an open buffet, 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, white elephant auction and door prizes. Hank Vincent and The Stone Street Station will perform from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

WELLSBURG – The Wellsburg Area Ministerium offers assistance with utility shut-off, food and emergency medical needs.
Those who need assistance should contact the ministerium about qualifying for assistance by calling (304) 670-7404 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Those who want to make a donation can mail a check payable to the Wellsburg Area Ministerium to P.O. Box 130, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
Bethany club receives honors
BETHANY – Helen Moren, GFWC WV recording secretary and Bethany Woman’s Club president, attended the 108th Annual State Convention of West Virginia Federation of Women’s Clubs, March 21-24 at the Greenbrier Resort.
The Bethany Woman’s Club was named an Honor Club and Superior Club. It also placed first in Community Service Home Life Partnership, International Outreach, Domestic Violence, Communication and Identify and 1734 Donation; second in International Outreach Partnership, Public Issues, Scholarship Fund and Media Book and third in Leadership and Newsletter.
It also was named Best Overall in Communications and Identify and will go on to the GFWC for judging.
