Author addresses Literary Department

WEIRTON – The Literary Department of the Weirton Woman’s Club, a General Federation of Women’s Clubs of West Virginia member club, met March 18 at Undo’s for dinner and monthly meeting.

Chair Diana Durst welcomed members and guests, Lacey Neeley and Larry Ivkovich.

Barbara Raynolds gave the inspiration, and Molly Mossor led members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.”

Enid Williams gave the Literary Light and reviewed the book “Lilibet” by Carolly Erikson.

Program Chair Williams introduced Larry Ivokovich, “Sixth Precept” and “Reunion at Olan” author. Ivokovich is a member of Pittsburgh South Writers and Pittsburgh Wordwrites and has authored several science fiction, fantasy and horror stories and novellas.

He read excerpts from his books and held a question-and-answer session before donating two of his books to the Literary Department. The department also purchased two books for donation to the Mary H. Weir Public library.

Betty Flowers will give April’s inspiration, and Sharon Neeley will give the Literary Light. The program will be “A Walk Down Memory Lane.”

Susan Slowikowski, Mossor, Shirley DeLuca, Jeanne Amidon and Susan Spencer Smith won door prizes.

Mossor and Sharon Neeley were hostesses, and Durst assisting.

The next meeting will be held April 15.
