Franciscan Sisters plan open house
As the Franciscan Sisters, Third Order Regular from Toronto celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the founding of their religious community, they are planning an open house for the public on May 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a closing vigil Mass at 4 p.m.
Family activities will begin at 11 a.m. with hayrides, inflatables, crafts and music. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
They also are organizing a 25th anniversary benefit dinner fundraiser on Sept. 21, also at their Motherhouse and also open to the public.
“The sisters wish to say thank you to all our families, friends, benefactors and supporters who have shared their time, talents and treasures in order to make possible our mission to ‘Make Known God’s Merciful Love’ in the church, in the world and in our local area,” a news release notes.
The community of 33 sisters welcome the public to the new Father of Mercy Chapel and residence built in August 2010 and located at 369 Little Church Road, Toronto.
