Soccer league holding fundraiser

BURGETTSTOWN – The Burgettstown Area Youth Soccer Association will hold a fundraising concert, “BAYSApalooza,” beginning at 4:30 p.m. May 11 at the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse on state Route 18.

The doors open at 4:30 p.m., and acoustic musician Victor Abendano begins the afternoon’s entertainment. The first band will take the stage at 5 p.m. Featured bands include local acts The Majors, Bad Judgment, Spinning Jennys and headliners Poise N’ Roses and the All Star Crue. The event also includes a buffet, served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A cash bar and 50/50 drawing will be available, and the event will include door prizes and contests, with prizes including big-screen televisions and gift certificates.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The fundraiser will benefit the league’s soccer complex and field expansion and upgrade project. BAYSA is a nonprofit organization proving recreational and competitive soccer for children aged 4 through 18 living in the Avella Area, Burgettstown Area and Fort Cherry school districts and surrounding areas. BAYSA’s focus is to teach the game of soccer, emphasizing sportsmanship and team play in a fun and friendly way. The league includes 350 players.
