Gospel Homecoming scheduled May 25
A Gospel Homecoming will be a Memorial Day weekend attraction at the Berkman Ampitheater in Steubenvillle as the Chrisagis Brothers and Ohio Valley Audio present an evening of gospel music, worship and reflection on prayer and the church.
The free event at 120 S. Third St., Steubenville, will be held May 25, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until dusk, according to Brian and Shawn Chrisagis.
The brothers’s music ministry will join forces with other area entertainers including Ron Retzer, JD Garrison, Jennifer Galownia, Bob Wolfe, Leslie Thermes, Doc Roe, Earl Tuttle, Lesa Thermes and Barbara Thermes.
“It is a call-out to the churches to not back down from standing their ground against all the violence but to stand up for Christ and to bring the area back to him and bring some good news to the area. The event will be very much like a Bill Gaither homecoming special,” the Chrisagis brothers said.
Bob Wolfe will be the host for the event where the lineup includes:
4:30 p.m.: Pastor Ed Rudiger, opening prayer, followed by singing by Earl Tuttle, Doc Roe, Barbara Thermes and Lesa Thermes.
5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Ron Retzer.
5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: The Chrisagis Brothers and their ministry team of singers Ron Retzer, JD Garrison, Jennifer Galownia, Bob Wolfe, Leslie Thermes and Doc Roe will minister through word, music and skits.
The brothers said the event is a call to revival and a call to focus and put Christ where he belongs. “As the Bible says in Matthew 12: ‘In his name the nations will put their hope.’ This isn’t a church event – it is a Christian event that all denominations and non-denominations should support.”
Food and refreshments will be available.
