Medical center auxiliary meets

WEIRTON – President Sondra Weigel called the Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary’s April meeting to order, followed by members reciting the Auxiliary Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.

Weigel called for a moment of silence in memory of past auxiliary President Norman Troia, volunteer Phil Troia’s husband.

Weigel read the minutes of the April meeting. Treasurer Paula Billick gave the financial status of the auxiliary. Corresponding Secretary Mary Lou Batcho noted a thank-you note was sent for flower donation.

The following service reports were given: John Patton, coffee cart; Barbara Visnic, gift cart; Jeannie Duffy, gift shop; Barbara Cameron, information/surgical desk; Paula Billick, payroll deductions; Beth DiGregorio, surgical escorts, and John Patton, volunteens.

Special reports were given by: Grace Lenhart, historian; Katy Rosohac, volunteer hours; Sondra Weigel, volunteen hours; and Alma Wansack, remembrance fund.

Hospitality Chair Joan Hawrot reported the annual awards dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. July 16 in the medical center cafeteria. Awards winners will meet at 5 p.m. in the Starvaggi Board Room for pictures.

Vivian Weigel, Gift Shop Committee, noted there will be a 20 to 50 percent off sale on marked items at the gift shop from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 23.

Rose Ulizio, Mrs. Bubble’s program, said the group visited St. Paul’s School, where they presented their hand-washing program to 28 students.

Membership Chair Dolores Krinock reminded members dues should be remitted immediately.

Rachel Veltri of Madonna High School and Brice Hickey of Brooke High School are the auxiliary’s scholarship recipients.

June 5, orientation;

June 18, Executive Board meeting;

July 16, annual awards dinner; and

July 17-18, uniform sale.
