Department makes donation

WEIRTON – The Literary Department of the Weirton Woman’s Club, a General Federation of Women’s Clubs of West Virginia, held the final meeting of the season May 18 at the Williams Country Club.

Barbara Raynolds gave the Literary Light, reviewing “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn and “Daddy’s Gone a-Hunting” by Mary Higgins Clark.

Program Chair Enid Williams discussed programs for next year. Carol Village showed the department scrapbook.

Molly Mossor announced the baskets that will be offered for the basket drawing at the library. The drawing will be held from October through December. All proceeds go to the library to purchase new books.

Mossor also announced the Teddy Bear Tea will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 24 at the Mary H. Weir Public Library’s downstairs activity room. The Magic Man Jim Tate will perform a magic show and all children attending will receive a teddy bear. This is a free presentation sponsored by the Literary Department and children aged 3 and older are invited to attend.

Durst presented a check to Rekowski from the previous basket drawing. The program for the day was a Fiesta Ware Bingo.
