Society looks at Whiskey Rebellion
WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington County Historical Society will hold the annual “Prelude to a Rebellion: An 18th Century Rifle Frolic” from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Frontier History Center near the Main Pavilion in Washington Park located at 283 Dunn Ave.
The event is part of the kick-off for the city’s annual Whiskey Rebellion Festival in July in downtown.
The historical society will celebrate the history and heritage of the Pennsylvania frontier with historical re-enactments; period demonstrations; blacksmithing; woodworking and spinning and weaving. In addition, the Bloody Dirk Tavern will be open for distilling demonstrations; there will be weapons displays; and a smoke house construction.
It is free and open to the public.
