Nifty Needles Neighborhood Group meets

WEIRTON – The Nifty Needles Neighborhood Group of the American Sewing Guild met at the First Christian Church on Main Street.

Leader Nancy Sanders welcomed the nine in attendance, including guest Diane Smith.

Members were reminded of the Monroeville Sewing Expo Aug. 22-24.

During show-and-tell, Kay Nixon displayed three summer blouses, a patchwork purse and a knitted wool cardigan; Nancy Linn displayed an embroidered apron; Carol Village displayed a baby quilt and three cobbler’s aprons; Dolly Grossman displayed a red-white-and-blue stars door hanging; Diane Smith displayed a reversible fabric purse and shadow quilt; and Susan Maze displayed a black-and-gold ruffled scarf and fleece baby blanket and pillow.

Dale Negle presented a program on self-tie scarves. All members received a pattern, instructions and their choice of a scarf made by Negle. Members watched a video on fashion scarf wear.

Negle won the door prize.

Grossman will present the program at the Aug. 6 meeting.
