Sundowners Saddle Club to hold competition Sunday

NEW CUMBERLAND – The Sundowners 4-H Saddle Club is sponsoring a series of open horse shows this summer.

The second show will be on Sunday. All shows will be held at 4-H Camp Aura, Ross Road, New Cumberland.

The show begins at 10 a.m. with five 10 years and under classes. These classes include Walk-Trot, Thread the Needle, Egg and Spoon, Cloverleaf Barrels and Leadline. All 10 and under classes will be awarded a first place trophy and ribbons to five places. At noon, open performance classes begin.

These classes include Thread the Needle, Down and Back, Straight Barrels, Pole bending, Cloverleaf Barrels, and Stakebend. All of these classes are broken into age divisions of 12 and under, 13-17 years of age and 18 and over.

All classes with eight or more entries will have cash payback.

There are also three added money classes which included $50 added barrels, $50 added Poles and $25 added Stakebend. Champion and Reserve will be awarded for all three age categories at the conclusion of the three shows.

Contestants must sign up to be considered for Champion and Reserve awards.

A?concession stand will be available on the grounds.
