Boots and Britches

The Boots and Britches 4-H Club members learned how to show rabbits from Hannah Means, a 4-H member who has gone to state competition and judged on a national level, at the July meeting.

Leigha Pasco presided and had members vote on a theme for the fair booth and parade float. Club rules were reviewed.

Members prepared for project judging day.

Boots and Britches members participated in the Wintersville Fourth of July festivities and changed the community service project to making chemo bags for a local cancer center. A committee was formed for the project.

Novaks Florist was thanked for donating plants for the Jefferson County Fairgrounds for the flower bed project sponsored by the agricultural society. Work on the flower beds were done at the July 25 meeting.

Several members conducted demonstrations.

Friends and Neighbors

The Friends and Neighbors 4-H Club made decorations for the Jefferson County Fair booth at the meeting held at the Colonial Baptist Church pavilion.

For activities, members learned about the solar system and made coffee filter planets resembling Earth.

The club will have a walking unit in the parade Saturday at the fair.

A potluck dinner is planned for Oct. 29 for future meetings. Andrew Constantine presided, and 11 members were present.
