Auxiliary looks at volunteers
WEIRTON – The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary’s August meeting was called to order by President Sondra Weigel, followed by the 21 members reciting the Auxiliary Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
Administrative Liaison Barbara Coalter gave updates on the continuation of new services at WMC.
Recording Secretary Elda Weekley and Treasurer Paula Billick gave their reports, which were approved as read.
The following service reports were given: John Patton, coffee cart; Paula Billick, payroll deductions; Elda Weekley, publicity; Diana Crago, radiology; Beth DiGregorio, surgical desk escorts; and Margaret Patton, volunteens.
Special reports were given by: Flo Jonczak, birth certificates; Grace Lenhart, Historian; Vivian Weigel, gift shop committee; Dolores Krinock, membership, and Alma Wansack, Remembrance fund.
Sondra Weigel, volunteen hours chair, reported the top three volunteens for first quarter were: Haley Kirkbride, 52 hours; Kayla Hancher, 44 hours; and Miranda Sarber, 38. The total hours volunteered during the first quarter were 324.5.
Top ten volunteers for the first quarter were: Sondra Weigel, 240 hours; Jeannie Duffy, 216.5 hours; Elda Weekley, 162.5 hours; Pat Gurrera, 156 hours; Paula Billick, 145 hours; Augie DiGirolamo, 145.5 hours; Marg DiClemente, 135 hours; Margaret Porchiran, 134 hours; Barbara Cameron, 125.5 hours; and Flo Jonczak, 123.5 hours.
An orientation was held Aug. 6, with five volunteens in attendance, and all are now in training.
They include Alan Alimario, Jordan Bettino, Paraag Gupta, Cody Haspel and Aaron McKindley.
