Cipriani receives credit union award

WEIRTON – Kenneth Watts, West Virginia Credit Union League president, announced Joseph B. Cipriani was the 2013 Chapter Leadership Award winner at the Weirton-Wellsburg Chapter of Credit Unions’ June meeting.

Cipriani is a volunteer for First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union.

He has been involved in the Credit Union movement for over 35 years.

Cipriani has held a variety of volunteer positions at First Choice America, from board of directors to his current position of CUSO board chair.

“Joe is very dedicated to the credit union movement. He attends almost every meeting, and brings with him much spirit,” said Janet Stagani, Weirton-Wellsburg Chapter president.

Cipriani worked in the Labor Relations Department of Weirton Steel Corporation before retiring in 1995. He is also a former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. He has one son, Joseph, who resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife.
