Covenant Presbyterian welcoming new pastor

The congregation of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Steubenville will welcome its new pastor when the Rev. Ronald Pritts delivers his first sermon from the pulpit of the church located at 1443 Belleview Blvd. on Sunday.

The public is invited to attend the worship service and installation at 10 a.m. Sunday. The sermon topic will be “How Good and Pleasant.”

Born in Greensburg, Pa., Pritts graduated from Duquesne University Law School. After a legal career, he returned to study at the Reform Theological Seminary of Orlando, Fla. He is an ordained minister of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian denomination and has served churches in West Virginia and Pennsylvania and most recently at the Faith Bible Church in Brick, N.J.

He will be the 12th pastor to serve Covenant Presbyterian Church since it started as Second United Presbyterian Church 101 years ago in 1912.

Pritts and his wife, Joan, will be coming to the area which is near where he was born and raised.
