Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp announces ‘Sweet Comfort’ women’s retreat Friday, Saturday

BERGHOLZ – Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp is announcing its 2013 women’s retreat, “Sweet Comfort: The Holy Spirit in our Lives,” happenings on Sept. 6-7.

The event will feature speaker Linda Page Mirante, who brings an infectious brand of motivation, encouragement and warm-hearted humor to her passion for sharing God’s love and promises with audiences all over America, according to a news release.

The event also will feature praise and worship with One Accord, workshops, a mission moment with Lifeline Christian Mission, prayer walk, prayer and praise wall, campfire and cross lighting, late night cafe and fellowship.

In addition, there will be an early bird carnival from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 6 featuring food, games, prizes, a used book exchange and a talent dollar marketplace.

The event takes place on Elkhorn Valley’s picturesque grounds, with more than 200 acres of wooded hills and fields. Cost of the event is $40 for both days or $25 for one. The two-day price includes dorm lodging, but retreat center lodging is available for an additional $5.

Calling her ministry “Celebrating Changed Hearts,” Mirante weaves “a powerful message to encourage women to believe God’s promises and be willing to step out to let Him change their lives and experience His blessings. Her presentations feature stories drawn from her own life and ministry and are laced with life-affirming scripture, drawing her audiences in with warmth and humor, “according to the news release.
