Nan Watzman items part of silent auction to benefit academy fund
The name has been prominently associated with the Academy of Lifelong Learning since its earliest days in 1999.
In the intervening years, Watzman twice served as academy president, was a longtime board member, was curricular chairman, a class instructor and a class facilitator.
Members have said her hard work, enthusiasm and support of the academy is unmatched.
Though Watzman died on July 11, her support of the organization will continue and will be on display at the academy’s fall open house event on Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. in the St. Joseph Center on the campus of Franciscan University of Steubenville.
More than 65 items from Watzman’s personal collections and treasures have been donated by her daughter, Susie Watzman, for a silent auction to benefit the academy’s fund to aid a nontraditional local area student at Franciscan University.
Donna Keagler serves as chairman of the fundraising effort.
