Point Pleasant holds picnic
NEW MANCHESTER – The Point Pleasant Ladies Aide held their annual picnic Aug. 14 at the home of Karen Randolph in New Manchester.
Louanne Huff gave the blessing before the meal.
President Carolyn Allison lit the memory candle as the group remembered those who could not attend the meeting due to illness, travel or obligations.
Louanne Huff presented the devotions with the theme “Bloom Where You Are Planted.”
Mick Goffoli gave the minutes, and Kathleen McDonald discussed the budget.
Hannah Strader, the Rev. Robert Staub, Jerry Ziegler and United Church Social Service Union sent the group thank-you letters
Members collected items to be displayed at the Old Time Fair Sept. 14-15 and the River Fest Sept. 28-29. Carolyn Allison asked members to sign a work schedule for the fairs.
The group made donations to the United Church Social Service Union and Wounded Soldiers.
Louanne Huff is continuing to collect socks for donation to veterans at Fox Crest in Chester and Serra Manor in Weirton.
The members ended the meeting sharing their concerns and comments for the good of the group. Carolyn Allison led the adjournment prayer.
Karen Randolph, Terry DeLong, Judy Tate and Ruth Fuller were hostesses.
The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Point Pleasant Methodist Church on Wylie Ridge Road.
