Diamond entertains Moving On group

WEIRTON – Members of Moving On, a group of widows and widowers, met Sept. 8 for their luncheon and meeting at Undo’s with Vice President Christine Brown presiding.

Jack Davis gave the blessing, and Brown provided the friendship reading, wishing everyone a Happy Grandparents Day.

September birthdays were acknowledged.

Joe Diamond of Washington, Pa., provided the entertainment on his guitar and sang with the members a variety of songs.

Vases with fall flowers decorated the tables donated by Betty Mazur, Barbara Mayers and Jeannette Spear.

Madeline Michael Boulson and Brown conducted the 50-50 drawing won by Spear. Undo gift certificates went to Fran Parsons and Eleanor Cooper. The Bob Evans gift basket was won by Nancy Smurda and the tote by Ann Zmuda.

Table prizes went to Henrietta Malesick, Margaret Chapman, Claire French, Nick Rodriguez, Boulson and Zmuda.

Carol Zagula discussed possible trips to Amish country, Branson, Mo., and other day and overnight trips.

Reports were given by Brown and Chapman, secretary and treasurer, respectively.

The next meeting will be held on Oct. 13 at Undo’s in Weirton. The cost of the meal is $12, and dues are $10. Anyone interested in joining can contact Jane Saner at (740) 537-4487.
