Library features storyteller

WELLSBURG – Storyteller Judi Tarowsky will present an hour-long program, “All Apples!,” at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Brooke County Public Library.

Using songs, audience participation and stories, Tarowsky will invite families to explore and learn fascinating facts and lore about apples.

“West Virginia has deep connections to the apples we enjoy everyday,” Tarowsky said. “We’ll discover Brooke County’s part in apple history and hear about an apple discovered in the Mountain State that became famous around the world.”

A former news reporter, Tarowsky won The Golden Shovel as the first place winner in the Inaugural Annual Strand Theatre Storytelling Festival Adult Amateur Liar’s Contest in 2006 and The Silver Shovel as second place winner in 2007.

She also has participated in the Three Rivers Storytelling Festival in Pittsburgh, the Vandalia Gathering in Charleston and many other events. She is a member of the West Virginia Storytelling Guild and the Ohio Organization for the Preservation of Storytelling.
