Upcoming Jefferson County Humane Society fundraisers

Are you ready to Zumba?

The Jefferson County Humane Society is planning a Zumbathon as a fundraiser, and the public is invited to participate.

It will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

There will be 12 Zumba instructors from throughout the area participating in the event that also will include a 50-50 drawing and baskets for auction.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Tickets are available at Hauser Furniture on Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville, and at area Zuma classes.

All-you-can eat pancake breakfast

An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is being planned by the Jefferson County Animal Welfare League for Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

The menu will consist of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, coffee, milk, tea and a variety of fruit juices.

The cost is $6 with children under 4 eating for free. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Teens and children who attend and are interested can bring a picture to draw about animals or write a poem. They should be there at 9 a.m. with certificates and prizes awarded at 9:30 a.m.

All checks or donations should be made payable to the Jefferson County Animals Welfare League and mailed to Arlene MacQuown, 129 Meadow Road, Wintersville, OH 43953.
