Fun Seekers decide to donate

WEIRTON – President David Hunt called the Fun Seekers September meeting at Undo’s in Weirton to order.

Joann Bugin gave invocation and led members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.”

Bugin introduced Martini Man David Watkins as entertainment for the evening.

Secretary Mary Beth Bauer and Treasurer J. DeFallo gave reports and accepted by membership.

Regina Truax announced the following trip:

Oct. 18, Rivers Casino;

Nov. 13-15, Greenbrier Resort; and

Dec. 5, Christmas Memories.

Vice President Larry Bauer stated a display at Eastern Gateway Center in Steubenville “Steel Industry” will be shown until Oct. 25.

Mav Kearney read “Wise Thoughts” for the group.

With the resignation of Joann Bugin as entertainment chair, the group still needs a volunteer to take over that position.

Mav Kearney and Ellen Hunt volunteered to be callers for the next year.

Membership voted on which organizations the group will donate the 50/50 drawing proceeds. The club will donate to Weirton Bread Basket and Salvation Army when meeting are held in West Virginia and to the Urban Mission and Salvation Army when meetings are held in Ohio.

Mary Margaret Klepadlo spoke on her efforts to find a meeting place in Ohio. Marge Serafini made a motion to go to Steubenville Country Club after hearing arrangements. It was approved by the club.

Boyd Barker won the 50/50 drawing; Nick Smarella won the Undo’s dinner; and Rose Barnsack won the club dinner.

The Casey Sisters School of Dance students will provide entertainment for the November meeting, which will be held at the Young Women’s Christian Association in Steubenville, Ohio.

Bugin gave the benediction, and the meeting adjourned.
