Church honors veterans

WELLSBURG – The Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene held the eighth-annual Military Appreciation Sunday Nov. 10 at the church located at 835 Washington Pike.

The Tri-State Young Marines, led by Gabriel Arlia, presented the colors. Wellsburg Mayor Sue Simonetti and Brooke County Commissioners Tim Ennis and Norma Tarr were in attendance. Active and retired military personnel from all branches of the armed forces were honored with a personal gift.

An honor roll of deceased military personnel was read, followed by a moment of silence and the playing of “Taps.”

Army Chaplain Lt. Col. Jeffrey L. Spangler was the guest speaker.

The Rev. Dennis K. Yingling is the pastor.
