YWCA holds bazaar, gets ready for holiday service
The YWCA at 320 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, held its annual Christmas bazaar on Thursday, an event that combined a variety of food to eat in or take out; door prizes; a 50-50 drawing; and a variety of vendors.
Nancy Brown served as chairman of the event, explaining that the bazaar is a tradition of the YWCA for at least 25 years, only this year, it was opened to outside vendors for the first time.
Proceeds from the event help sponsor ongoing programs at the YWCA, which run the gamut from summer day camps for girls, Y-Teen program, women’s transitional housing, senior socials, informational seminars and youth volunteers.
Marlyn Neely is the executive director of the YWCA, which next up will host its annual Thanksgiving service at 11 a.m. on Nov. 25.
Monsignor Gerald Calovini will deliver the message.
Lunch will be served following the service. The event is open to the public.
