CASA holding fund-raising events
WELLSBURG – A Child’s Place Court-Appointed Special Advocates will hold their 14th annual holiday open house from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the organization’s offices located at 720 Charles St.
The group also will hold a quarter auction Sunday at the Chester Veterans of Foreign Wars hall located at 417 Carolina Ave., Chester. The doors open at 2:30 p.m., and the auction begins at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes one paddle. A second paddle is $1 or a gift for one of the children the group serves.
The group also is soliciting gifts for the 113 children they service. Gifts are needed for children age birth through 18. Gift cards are needed.
CASA is in need of office supplies, including paper, envelopes and postage, including paper that has only been used on one side and letterheads that are no longer current.
The group is collecting ink toner cartridges for in-store credit at Staples.
CASA continues to struggle financially with an increased case load and funds that have been held up by the federal government shut-down. The group is behind on its rent. Financial contributions toward debts are requested.
