CWU meets in Paris church
PARIS, Pa. – The Church Women United Executive Board met for the Christmas luncheon at the Paris Presbyterian Church.
The host church served a spaghetti salad lunch, and Carolyn Shockley welcomed those in attendance and thanked them for donating items for the Paris food pantry, Dunbar Recreation Center and Weirton Christian Center.
Norma Copenhaver introduced the Rev. Christina Hosler, Paris Presbyterian pastor, who blessed the food.
First Vice President Nancy Sanders gave readings, “The Ornaments of Christmas,” “The Story of Silent Night” and “A Christmas Alphabet.” Choir Director Mary Ellen Groves led those attending in singing Christmas carols.
The members prayed for the sick, shut-ins and those who have lost loved ones.
The next meeting will be held Feb. 7 at the First Baptist Church at Homewood Avenue and Adams Street.
