Pancake breakfast planned

COLLIERS – The Colliers Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 15 at the Colliers Fire Hall.

The cost is $6 and includes all you can eat pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. Waffles and take-out will be available.

February story hours set

FOLLANSBEE – The Follansbee Branch of the Brooke County Public Library will hold story hours at noon Monday and Feb. 10, 17 and 24.

Children’s knitting group set

WELLSBURG – The Brooke County Public Library’s Kids Knitting Group, for children in third grade and up, will meet from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Learn Valentine cooking

WELLSBURG – Nora Bell will share recipes for Valentine’s Day treats at a cooking class for adults set for 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at the Brooke County Public Library.

Pasta dinner scheduled

COLLIERS – Olde St. John’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Valentine’s Day spaghetti dinner from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 8.

The church’s social hall will be decorated with candles for the event, which is open to couples or groups. Take-out also will be available.

The cost is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children under 12 for the meal, which will include pasta with home-made meat or marinara sauce, salad and choice of beverage and dessert.

Tax assistance offered

WEIRTON – Free assistance in filing income tax returns is available through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at C.H.A.N.G.E. Inc., the Mary H. Weir Public Library and Tin Mill Employees Federal Credit Union, all in Weirton.
