Chapter welcomes members

NEW CUMBERLAND – The January meeting of the Alpha Tau Chapter of West Virginia Alpha Delta Kappa was held at the Swaney Memorial Library.

President Fran Jones presided at the meeting where Chaplain Donna Durkin gave the Thought for the Day, “God Loves Teachers.”

Giving reports were Corresponding Secretary Shirley Washam and Recording Secretary Donna Bohach.

During the business session, the group discussed new officers, state convention and the Southeast Region Conference.

New members Tammy Fields and Amy Pryor were initiated into the honorary organization. Both are teachers at Oak Glen Middle School.

Karen Oyster, Lola Bender, Michelle Turner and Debby Churella were hostesses.

The Feb. 8 meeting will be a brunch at Nessley Chapel.

President Fran Jones called the meeting to order, and Chaplain Donna Durkin gave the Thought for the Day, “God Loves Teachers.” Corresponding Secretary Shirley Washam called roll and read correspondence; Recording Secretary Donna Bohach read the previous meeting’s minutes, which were approved; and committee reports were given.
