Free country concert set for today

PARIS – Tammy Davis will perform a mix of Christian and country music during a one-and-half hour free concert at 7 p.m. today at The Gathering Place Coffee Shop located on Old Steubenville Pike.

She has opened for Tracy Byrd, Gary Allen, the Oak Ridge Boys and Ronnie Milsap and has performed at the Jamboree in the Hills and the Capitol Music Hall. Davis traveled with Goldwing Express bluegrass band last year.

The concert is free and open to the public.

8 a.m., second Sunday of each month, community breakfast. Pancakes, sausages, eggs, coffee and juice are offered for $3. All are welcome.

last Sunday of each month, Tri-State Young Adult Group. The group is open to those who have graduated high school to those in their 30s. They meet for fellowship and prayer.

10 a.m. Mondays, chair exercise fitness program. The church host a group following along with Anna Pringle Burnell’s “Stronger Seniors Chair Exercise Program.”

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursdays, Mats for the Homeless. The church hosts a group who makes mats for the homeless from used plastic grocery bags. No prior knowledge or skill needed; those attending will be taught. Individuals and groups welcome.

The Gathering Place Coffee Shop is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Free coffee, tea and snacks are available. A host or hostess also is available.
